There is just something so timeless about a wrap dress. I have a RTW wrap dress that I have had for years, and as I was making this dress, my Mom was telling me about a wrap dress she made before I was born. The Wanda Wrap dress from Wardrobe by Me is the perfect addition to my pattern collection!

As someone who loves to sew, I am always interested in how a pattern comes together. The wrap of the Wanda is made in the construction of the bodice. As I was sewing, I was a little concerned that maybe I was getting something wrong, and then like magic it turned out perfectly. Just follow the steps in the instructions and pictures and your dress will be amazing!

The Wanda wrap dress only wraps at the bodice, so there is no worry about the skirt part accidentally showing a little too much. The six gored skirt results in a beautiful, flowy skirt that makes you want to spin. (side note, it is SO hard to get a spinning picture… I tried and just ended up extremely dizzy, ha!)

The pattern has two listings, sizes 0-16 and a curvy listing of 14-24, however you will get the full size range when ordering your pattern. Here are all the pattern details:

  • Wrapped bodice
  • Six gored flowy skirt
  • Four sleeve lengths
  • Sleeveless option

You will want to choose a fabric with good drape for this dress. I found this beautiful cotton spandex blend from Girl Charlee, and it worked perfectly!
