A Farfar cardigan

The other day I posted about making some clothes for my husband from some Wardrobe by Me patterns. Not long after I made them, Wardrobe by Me had a tester call for another mens pattern. Of course I jumped at the chance to add more mens patterns to my collection, and signed up to test the Farfar Cardigan. Fun fact, Farfar means Grandpa in Danish. This cardigan isn’t just for your Grandpa though, it will look great on any man in your life.

I chose to make the shawl collar option for this Farfar cardigan. While I loved this pale blue knit fabric, my regular sewing machine did not! It kept eating a hole in the fabric, fortunately for me I discovered this early and had enough fabric to finish my cardigan using my serger. Since I knew my machine would not cooperate with buttonholes, I left them off of this cardigan.

The other day while I was waiting to get some fabric cut at the store, my husband found a fun Christmas sweater knit that he wants for his next cardigan. You know you have a winning pattern, when your husband starts looking for more fabric! Now I’m just waiting for the next good sale or coupon so I can buy the fabric he wants!
