Sundown Tank Tops

As any fabric lover knows, sometimes you hold on to a certain fabric until the right pattern comes along. My youngest daughter has repeatedly asked my to make her something out of this beautiful French Terry that I got from Knitpop. She kept telling me it’s her favorite color, and she loves the flowers, and it is so soft. So, when Striped Swallow Designs came out with the Sundown tank, I knew it was time to use this special fabric and I am so glad I did!

The open back and twist details of this tank top make it so fun and unique! The pattern instructions are clear and walk you through each step of adding the twists. I love a well written pattern that allows me to make my daughter a fun new tank that is so on-trend with what is available in the stores.

After making my daughters Sundown tank, I knew I wanted one for myself! This time I used some DBP that I got from Sew So English Fabrics. Since I am only 5’1″, I was able to fit into the children’s size 14 (a benefit to being short!). The Sundown tank also comes in womens sizes that includes a lower back option as well.

Lately I have been having trouble getting “pretty” pictures for my pattern tests/blog posts. It seems like every evening we have had thunderstorms or high winds. However, when we went to take pictures there was the most beautiful sunset… perfect for the Sundown tank!
