Recently I had the opportunity to test the Boxy Boyfriend Tee from Everything Your Mama Made & More. The pattern comes with three neckline options: crew, scooped and v-neck. There are also two sleeve options, a split-hem, and a cropped length. I have never sewn a v-neck tee shirt, and I was a little apprehensive. I decided to finally conquer my fear, and I am so glad I did!
During testing, I sewed two different v-neck shirts. My first attempt was this blue striped shirt. For this shirt I also chose the sleeve option and the split hem. The pattern gives you detailed instructions for the v-neck. For me, the most important thing was to go slow. I tend to want to sew quickly, however taking time to make sure to place the neck band on correctly is the key to a successful v-neck!
Next, was the purple shirt. I again sewed up a v-neck and split hem, but for this shirt I chose the cap sleeve. This shirt is so comfortable!
My third version of the Boxy Boyfriend tee was with the scoop neck, cropped length. I used this pretty striped Hacci fabric from Girl Charlee. Immediately after taking these photos, my teenagers had claimed this shirt for themselves!
